# Publish your first job

Jobs are created in the dashboard and published to your careers site at `your-company.qosel.com`, where candidates browse and apply.

## Create the job

#### Start a new job

Go to **Hiring → Jobs** and create a job. Give it a public title and, optionally, an internal name for your team's reference.

#### Describe the role

Fill in the description, requirements, nice-to-haves, and benefits. Set the details candidates filter by:

* **Employment type** — full-time, part-time, contract…
* **Location** — on-site, remote, or hybrid, plus office and location notes
* **Experience level** — from intern to executive
* **Department and headcount**

#### Set compensation

Enter a salary range with currency and pay frequency. You control **visibility** — show the range publicly on the job post or keep it internal — and can mark it negotiable.

#### Choose the pipeline and application form

Pick which [pipeline](/get-started/set-up-your-pipeline) applications will follow, and attach an application form. Forms are built under **Hiring → Settings → Forms** with the question types you need — and every public application form is protected against bots automatically.

**Knockout rules** (under **Hiring → Settings → Knockout rules**) can auto-screen applications based on form answers — for example, filtering out candidates without a required work permit — so your team spends review time where it counts.

#### Publish

Publish immediately, or schedule a go-live date. If your organization uses hiring approvals, the job first moves to **Pending review** for sign-off.

## Job lifecycle

| Status             | Meaning                                                                |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Draft** | Being written — not visible anywhere |
| **Pending review** | Awaiting internal approval |
| **Scheduled** | Approved, goes live at a set date |
| **Published** | Live on your careers site |
| **Unlisted** | Live, but reachable only by direct link — great for confidential roles |
| **Paused** | Temporarily hidden, applications preserved |
| **Closed**         | Hiring finished                                                        |

## See it live

Your published job appears at:

```
https://your-company.qosel.com/jobs/<job-id>
```

Candidates apply right on that page. To measure where applicants come from, create **tracking links** per channel under **Hiring → Settings → Tracking links** — more on that in the next guide.
